Are you searching for a great Halloween party craft for kids? Look no further – this is it! Kids will LOVE making this paper plate candy corn wreath craft, and you’ll love how easy and inexpensive it is to put together. It’s a sweet Halloween craft project that’s wonderful for kids of all ages.
Would you ever think to turn paper plates into candy corn? Kind of crazy, right? But we actually used our paper plate candy corn to make two other projects, too! You might also want to check out our Candy Corn Counting Game (also a great Halloween party game!), and our Candy Corn Garland!
To get started on making this candy corn wreath (or any of our other candy corn projects), first read this post on How to Make Paper Plate Candy Corn.
After you’ve made the candy corn pieces for the wreath, you’ll be ready to go with this part of the project!
Here are the supplies you’ll need to make the wreath:
- Candy corn pieces made from the How to Make Paper Plate Candy Corn tutorial
- Another paper plate (we used a black paper plate for contrast)
- Glue
- Ribbon (we used three types of ribbon in three colors to add some contrast)
Now, get ready to make a cute Halloween wreath!
Begin by cutting the center circle out of the paper plate.
Next, create a bow with craft ribbon, and glue that to the top of the paper plate.
Our bow is not fancy – it’s just three types of ribbon knotted together! You can make the bow as simple or fancy as you like!
Finally, glue the paper plate candy corn pieces all around the open part of the paper plate. If you need to trim some of the candy corn pieces to get them to fit, that is totally fine! The candy corn will still look great!
Because this is a Halloween craft for kids, we used school glue to make this candy corn wreath. That required us to set the wreath aside to dry. If you’re short on time or want the glue to dry faster, you could use a glue stick or a hot glue gun (with adult supervision and/or operation, of course!).
Kids will love bringing their candy corn wreaths home and displaying them proudly on the door or anywhere else in the home!
This Halloween paper plate craft is definitely sweet, don’t you think?
