How to Make a Paper Plate Gumball Machine Craft
Get ready to be wowed by how easy this sweet candy-themed kids craft is to make!
Step One
Begin by printing the gumball machine craft template from the supply list above. Cut out the pieces and trace the gumball machine base and gumball machine top onto a piece of red construction paper. Trace the gumball machine opening onto a piece of black or gray construction paper.
Step Two
Cut out the gumball machine pieces, and glue the gumball machine opening to the gumball machine base.
Step Three
Next, glue the gumball machine base onto the back of a dessert-sized white paper plate.
Step Four
Now, glue the gumball machine top onto the upper back of the white paper plate.
Step Five
Using the “dot, dot, not a lot” method of school glue application, put small dots of glue on the white paper plate. Then, press pom poms onto the glue dots. The pom poms are the gumballs in this craft!
Step Six
Once the pom pom gumballs are in place, run a thin line of glue around the edge of a clear paper plate. Then, press the clear paper plate onto the white paper plate to form the glass-look enclosure of the gumball machine.
For an even cheaper version of this gumball machine craft, skip this step! You don’t have to have the clear plastic plates – they just add a cute touch.
Set the project aside to dry to make sure that the clear paper plate can bond to the white paper plate very well.
Once dry, this gumball machine craft is ready to go!
